The Buford High junior is beginning to get numerous offers from schools around the southeast, but he says the Yellow Jackets have a unique program that has attracted him in the early-going. For Alexander, it has never been all about football.
"Georgia Tech is a great academic school, well above some of the traditional SEC powers in that regard," Alexander said. "I like Georgia Tech a lot, and meeting some of the coaches on Sunday really helped with the process."
Alexander was in town and on campus on Sunday afternoon, where he met with head coach Paul Johnson and Coach Andy McCollum, his recruiting coordinator at Georgia Tech. After the meetings, Alexander was refreshed in a program that he holds in high regard so far in the process of choosing a school to attend for his college career.
Yet, Alexander isn't sure when he will be able to make a Junior Day visit.
"I talked about Junior Day visits with Coach McCollum, but I haven't locked in a date to visit yet," Alexander said. "I do want to make a visit, but I just don't know if I'll be available to make the trip on either of the upcoming days yet."
As he looks ahead to his senior season at Buford High, the 6-foot-5, 329-pound Alexander knows that he can improve at his position as he prepares for college ball. With that in mind, Alexander has made a mental list of improvements he hopes to make in his final year of high school football.
"I want to get better at my lateral quickness, blocking in space, and pass protection," Alexander said.
