Jonathan Taylor Will Attend GT's Junior Day

Jenkins County DL Jonathan Taylor

Defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor, a 2012 recruit out of Jenkins County High School, is preparing to visit the Georgia Tech campus and intends to consider the Yellow Jackets as a college destination during his recruitment.

"I've made a few trips to Tech, but I'll be coming back next weekend for Junior Day," Jonathan Taylor said.

The junior out of Millen, Ga. is a teammate of James Deloach, a fellow defensive lineman that is considering Georgia Tech as an option for college ball. Deloach, like Taylor, will be visiting next Saturday for Junior Day.

"I talked to James, and we're both pretty excited to make the trip," Taylor said.

Taylor is currently listed as a four-star recruit by Scout.com, and his 6-foot-3, 307-pound frame would be a good fit for the Georgia Tech defensive line.

"For me, education is important when I look at colleges," Taylor said. "I've gotten a verbal offer from Georgia Tech and Coach (Mike) Sewak."

When asked about the advantages that Georgia Tech holds in relation to other schools he's considering, he mentioned a familiarity with the Atlanta campus due to several visits he has made in the past.

Being a hometown school may be a necessary positive to land Taylor in 2012 – he has already received offers from several schools: Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee, in addition to Georgia Tech.
