GT Offers Kenneth Goins
Kenneth has yet to talk to any of the coaches at Georgia Tech. ‘My coach has been talking with most of the schools contacting me and when the summer rolls around I will start making visits."
Goins' time right now is focused on track. "I run both indoor and outdoor track and that has taken up a lot of my time in the spring." Goins is competing in the 100 and 200 meters as well as the 4 x 1 and 4 x 2 relays.
Besides Georgia Tech, Goins is also hearing from West Virginia, Rutgers, Penn State, Iowa, Oregon, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Wake Forest and Notre Dame. "Rutgers is recruiting me the hardest along with Wake Forest."
Although he's playing both offense and defense, most schools are recruiting him for defense. "Just about all the schools have told my coach they are looking at me to play defense." If a school wants him to play offense, Kenneth is not opposed to doing so.
As a running back Goins best traits are his speed and power. "I can run by a player and I can also run over one." On defense Goins specializes in sacks. "My speed is very good and I use it to the best of my ability when I'm on defense."
Playing B Back in Georgia Tech's triple option offense is something that appeals to Goins. "I wouldn't mind playing that position at all."
Goins is looking at two things in deciding on a school to attend. "I want to go to a school that will challenge me in the classroom and I want a football program that is good an on the rise." Distance from home will not be a factor for Goins. "I know my parents wouldn't mind me staying close to home but they know the decision is one I have to make and they will support me no matter where I go."
Kenneth has already started to think about what he'd like to major in once he gets to college. "I've pretty much narrowed it down to either a degree in business or engineering." Goins is looking for a degree that will be worth the hard work.
Goins doesn't appear to be in a rush to make a decision. "I'd like to visit as many schools as I can and I'd like to take my official visits but I know there will be a time when I feel I have found the right school and will make the decision at that time." In the long run, Goins feels the decision will be later rather than sooner.
