Keanu Neal added a new ACC offer on Tuesday and he now has a total of four scholarship offers…
Keanu Neal Shows What He Can Do
Preparing to enter his junior year at South Sumter High School, Keanu Neal made the trip to Atlanta to check out the football program at Georgia Tech and attend their camp. Having never been on the campus before, Neal was pleased with what he saw. "It was a really big campus," Neal said. "It seemed like it was all by itself too." Tech's non-city feel tends to pleasantly surprise many of the recruits that visit the campus for the first time, but Neal was more interested in getting on the field and seeing how his skills stacked up with the other attendees. What Neal found when the camp began was that he fit in with many of the other highly-rated recruits, even those who are a year older than him. Neal said that aside from the extra year of experience the 2012 recruits had, there wasn't a lot that they possessed that he didn't have. Another bright spot about the visit was getting to see Coach Joe Speed again, who came down to visit Neal at his school in May. After he and Speed got to chat, Speed took Neal around to meet the other coaches. That included head coach Paul Johnson, and the Jackets' leader had positive things to say. "He told me I had a really bright future, and then he told me I'd been offered," Neal said. "Getting the offer was really exciting." Although it is still early in the process, Neal believes his ability to get to the ball in the secondary would really help him thrive in the Tech defense. He will head to South Florida for an upcoming 7-on-7 camp, which will be his last camp of the summer, and then he will turn his attention to the upcoming football season. Neal said he hopes to help his team reach the state playoffs in any way possible, and then after the football season ends, he will begin to focus on the recruiting trail again.
