Summers Takes In Fall Saturdays In Atlanta

Wide receiver Micheal Summers has been verbally committed to Georgia Tech since mid-June, and he's anticipating plenty of excitement in the coming – high school football playoffs and more visits to see the Yellow Jackets play.

Micheal Summers articulated that he hasn't been in contact with any schools other than Georgia Tech since announcing his commitment, but he has remained in regular contact with his recruiting coordinator at Tech, Lamar Owens. He and Owens speak once a week at least, Summers said.

The senior at Statesboro (GA) High School said his team's 8-0 record has them two weeks away from the region championship. Statesboro High is gunning for the state title in 4-A, which they missed out on last season.

Summers had a chance to make a trip to Atlanta once this season when the Yellow Jackets hosted North Carolina a few weeks ago, and he got a chance to see much of the football program's facilities. But he also watched the Tech offense intently, and is starting to become familiar with it already.

"The offense is very versatile," Summers said after witnessing the Jackets' 35-28 victory over the Tar Heels. "It was good to see them throw the ball all over the field that day."

The senior that he has two more planned trips to Bobby Dodd Stadium this season – once this weekend for the game against Clemson and once to take in the Yellow Jackets' game against Georgia. And even though it's been tough sledding for Georgia Tech the last two weeks, Summers isn't fazed at all.

"The losses don't mean much to me – every team wins and every team loses," Summers said. "I know Coach Johnson will pull them together and have a solid week of practice, and they'll get back on track."
