Dominick Johnson Has a Top Three

2013 Panther Creek (NC) athlete Dominick Johnson is yet another prospect who recently made the trip down to Atlanta to watch Georgia Tech do battle against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Yellow Jackets were the third team that Johnson visited this season and he says that he really enjoyed his time in the Peach State. "It was my first time being in Atlanta and I liked how the school was located in the city," Johnson said. "I like the coaching staff at Tech. They made me feel pretty good around there. I also liked the history of the program and the stadium. After the game, my family and I went to the Georgia Aquarium and went to watch a movie, which was fun. I had a really good time overall."

After a positive experience in Atlanta, the Yellow Jackets have already emerged as one of the early leaders for Johnson's services. "I'd say that Georgia Tech is definitely in my top three right now. My current top three schools are Clemson, Georgia Tech and Tennessee." Johnson has been talking regularly to the Yellow Jacket coaching staff and says that he already has made plans for a return trip to Atlanta in the near future.

"I talk to Coach (Buzz) Preston a lot. I went down and talked to him on my visit and he's a nice guy. He wants me to come down to camp so they can see me in person, and I am going to go so I can get another look at the campus."

The Yellow Jackets have not yet decided which position they would like Johnson to play in college if he were to enroll at Georgia Tech. Johnson says that most of the schools recruiting him want him to play wide receiver in college, although there are a couple that are recruiting him as a defensive back.

Johnson has yet to land his first scholarship offer, but he will have plenty of time to accrue offers, as he does not plan to make his college decision until after his senior season is completed. He lists academics, his relationship with the coaching staff and the atmosphere of the school as the three biggest factors in his decision.
