Brandon Facyson Visits Tech, Receives Offer

Northgate WR Brandon Facyson

Northgate High School (Georgia) athlete Brandon Facyson made a return visit to the Georgia Tech campus Saturday. The visit included a meeting with Coach Paul Johnson and an offer from Georgia Tech.

Brandon Facyson also talked to other members of the staff about the academic and football tradition at Tech. "We also had a chance to check out the new indoor practice facility and student center." Brandon met some of the players and other recruits while he was on campus. "It was a very good day."

"I had a chance to talk with Louis Young, B.J. Bostic, and Jeremiah Attaochu. Brandon also talked with newly signed Jacket Francis Kallon. "I can tell you he is one big dude." The players all talked to Facyson about Georgia Tech and how much they enjoy it there. "I met recruits like Jay Woods, Sean Spencer, and a kicker (Harrison Butker) from Westminister."

The highlight of the trip for Brandon was receiving an offer from Coach Johnson and Georgia Tech. "It was a great feeling when Coach Johnson offered me the scholarship." The Tech staff was impressed with the fact that Facyson was a student-athlete. "The fact that I am a student-athlete that puts the student first is what they are looking for in a recruit."

"I love the coaches there. It puts them high on my list." Facyson appreciated that the coaches were up front and have the interest of the player in mind. "I feel that every recruit should have the chance to meet these coaches."

Following his visit to Georgia Tech, Brandon is looking to visit Georgia next week for their Junior Day. He also has plans to attend some spring practices and spring games. He will be spending most of his time preparing for the upcoming season.

We also talked to Brandon's dad about his plans. "Brandon has made the National Honor Society and is only a few credits short of graduation. He is focusing on the task at hand and is in position to graduate early so that he has the chance to enroll early in college."

He and Brandon are looking at the chance to participate in spring practices if he enrolls early. "It is Brandon's decision to make but if he does decide to go to Georgia Tech, he could still have the life of a high school student by being able to go to his senior prom and walk the stage at his high school graduation despite enrolling early in college."

"We will definitely go to some practices at Georgia Tech." Brandon's Dad wants him to see how they get with it on the college level. "Watching a game is one thing but to get there and watch how they work the kids in practice is something I want Brandon to see."
