"I was coming through Atlanta and decided to stop by and talk with the coaches at Georgia Tech." In addition to talking to the coaches, Nick Glass spent some time with the players. "I loved every minute of it."
Glass had one on one conversations with Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Al Groh. "Both of them said they really like me a lot and can't wait for me to be a Yellow Jacket." Glass liked the fact that both coaches were showing him how much they wanted him at Tech even though he was only a sophomore.
After his meetings with Coach Johnson and Coach Groh, Nick spent some time with defensive backs coach, Charles Kelly. "We watched a lot of film." Kelly would be Nick's position coach and he is actively recruiting Glass. "He broke down the film and showed me how I would be used in his defensive backfield."
Nick also talked with his main recruiting coach, Joe Speed. The two of them talked and played some pool in the student center. Nick laughingly mentioned that they each won a game. "He's a cool guy and we had a great time today."
Glass felt that the best part of the trip was his one on one with Coach Johnson. "He really let me know how much he wants me there." Glass also enjoyed his time with Coach Speed. "It showed me that the coaches can relate with the players and still be the person that is in charge."
When Tech starts their spring practices on March 26th, Nick will be return to campus to watch some of the practices as well as attending the Friday night spring game. Glass has plans spend the night in Atlanta. "I am looking forward to that."
This Saturday Nick and one of his teammates will be heading to Gainesville to visit Florida. "We are getting up early Saturday morning and heading down to their campus."
Nick is not ready to name a leader this early in the process. "I have a long way to go and a lot of schools to check out." Glass doesn't want to make a decision without all the facts and information he needs.
