GoJackets.com has learned that Georgia Tech received its fourth commitment of the 2012 basketball recruiting class this evening when PG Corey Heyward gave his pledge to sign.

Heyward's commitment also answers the oft-asked question about whether or not Georgia Tech would be taking a point guard in their 2012 class.

Heyward graduated in 2011 from Peachtree Ridge HS (Suwanee, GA) and has been attending Hargrave Military Academy this past year. Heyward was also the Region 7 5A Player of the Year in 2011. Georgia Tech will have signed the last 2 such players from Region 7 with Heyward joining soon-to-be teammate Chris Bolden who won the award in 2012. Heyward is reportedly 6-1 and 200 lbs and is also the son of former NFL great Craig "Ironhead" Heyward.
