Most schools are recruiting Forestville (MD) Bishop McNamara's Kevin Robbins as a defensive end but…
Robbins Really Likes GT After Visit
Kevin Robbins arrived in Atlanta in time for the scrimmage. Following the scrimmage Kevin met with Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Al Groh. "He gave me an overview on how I could help the program." Coach Groh also let Robbins know that he sees him as an outside linebacker in his 3-4 defensive scheme. "That's where he feels I'll make the biggest impact." The move to defensive end for the 6'4"-230 Robbins will be a transition for him having never played that position before. Following his meeting with Coach Groh, Kevin got together with Georgia Tech players Denzel McCoy, Louis Young, and Synjyn Days to get a look at the Tech campus. "We've just been relaxing and we came out to watch the women's softball game." "There's a lot to do on the campus and the people are very friendly." Like many recruits that visit Tech, Kevin was surprised by what he saw when he visited the city school. "You get the feel that it's not in the city even though it is in the middle of the city." Kevin has been getting attention from schools around the country. He has twelve offers including one from Georgia Tech. "I don't have any favorites right now but I'm really liking Georgia Tech." Kevin likes what Tech has to offer and liked what he saw from touring the campus. "I had a great time." Robbins doesn't have a date in mind to make his college choice."I'm just riding this whole recruiting process out." Kevin wants to get to know as many schools as possible before he sits down and makes his decision. "My decision will come when it comes." Following his visit to Georgia Tech, Robbins only has one other visit in mind. "I'm going to visit Michigan State sometime towards the end of the month."
