Chaz Thornton Working For Georgia Tech Offer

Stephens County RB Chaz Thornton

Stephens County, Georgia running back Chaz Thornton had a big 2011 season and he plans on doing even better his senior season. Thornton isn't the biggest running back but he lets his on the field performance do his talking for him.

Georgia Southern, UNC Charlotte, and UT Chattanooga are three schools that are showing Chaz Thornton the most interest. All three schools have offered Thornton.

Georgia Tech is another school that is showing interest in Thornton. "I have an unofficial offer from them." Georgia Tech Coach Mike Sewak wants Thornton to raise his SAT score. "Coach Sewak said that an offer would be forthcoming if I got it to a certain level."

Chaz has hired an SAT tutor and he has signed up to take the ACT test in September. "I really would like to get an offer from Georgia Tech."

Coach Sewak and Thornton keep in touch weekly. "We make sure we know where each side stands" Chaz also talks to Georgia Tech A Backs coach Lamar Owens. "He's a cool guy and I like him a lot. I could learn a lot from him."

An offer from Georgia Tech wouldn't necessarily lead to Chaz committing. "I love Georgia Tech a lot but I would be doing myself wrong if I made a quick commitment."

Thornton would like to make his decision before school starts but he knows that won't happen. "I will go into October to see what offers I have and then choose the one I feel is the best for me. It may be Georgia Tech as I really do love them a lot."

Once the collegiate season begins, Thornton will start attending some games. "I just don't know which games or which dates just yet." Thornton has plans to sit down and arrange a schedule that will fit best around his senior season schedule.

Thornton is looking forward to his senior season and he has set some goals for himself and the team. "My goals are to get 2,500 yards rushing and help my team win a state championship. It would be great to go out on a high note."
