Watkins made a call to Georgia Tech and talked to coaches Paul Johnson, Brian Bohannon, and Dave Walkosky. "They told me that they had been evaluating my film and that they were extending an offer to me. They want to get to know me even more and they want me to get to know them even more."
"Georgia Tech was one of the first schools to really show me interest." Watkins visited Tech for a game and also attended their summer camp. He toured the school and talked with the coaches. "This offer was the one I was really waiting for."
The offer from Tech brings Watkins total to ten. Dareian will wait until after the football season before he lists any favorites from that list. "Once the season is over I will start looking at each school and what they have to offer and I'll start making a top list then."
Dareian will be looking for three things in making his college choice. "My relationship with the coaching staff, how soon I can get on the field, and the school's tradition will be the factors." Watkins is looking for a school with a good academic and football tradition.
Most schools are recruiting Watkins to play receiver save one. "Georgia Tech wants me as a quarterback." While he is warming up to the idea of being a receiver, Dareian is willing to play whatever position the coaches want him to play.
Watkins has three visits planned for the remainder of the season. "This weekend I will go to Michigan and next week I will go to Wisconsin." After those two visits, Dareian plans to visit North Carolina State and family that live in the area.
