Aquinas High School (GA) running back Brendan Douglas has always had Georgia Tech at the top of his favorites list. He wasn't in a rush to make a decision. This week he decided to make his college choice.

Douglas placed a call Tuesday to Georgia Tech coach, Paul Johnson to talk about his situation. "He told me that he still wanted me at Georgia Tech and that he had some spots open up for the 2013 class." The news was what Brendan was hoping for and he gave Coach Johnson his commit.

The Douglas verbal was also what Coach Johnson was hoping to hear. "He said he had a feeling that some spots would open up after he had to pull back the offer in May when Donovan Wilson committed."

When Douglas was asked to make a decision in May, he didn't feel that he was ready to make one. Brendan felt that he owed it to himself to see what was out there and what other schools had to offer. "I knew that Coach Johnson really wanted me and he told me that there was a chance a spot could open up"

Douglas kept working hard after his scholarship went to Ohio running back Donovan Wilson. "I just felt that Georgia Tech would be the place I ended up all along though."

Brendan also knew there was a chance that a spot wouldn't open up for him. "I just took the chance on it and it worked out for me."

The plan for Brendan is to be a B Back in the Tech offense. "Coach Johnson said he loved my athletic ability and that I could possibly play some A-Back." In spite of this, Brendan feels that B Back is where they want him to play.

The decision to attend Georgia Tech is one that Brendan's parents really like. "They know what Georgia Tech can do for me academically and they can easily come see me play."
