The No. 6 defensive end in the class of 2013 stuck around for the Tigers' 27-17 loss to rival South Carolina.

"It was a good game. I really liked the game," Lawson told CUTigers on Sunday afternoon.

He added, "It's a beautiful campus…I liked it."

Several of the Clemson coaches made sure that Lawson felt welcome while he was in for his first visit to Tigertown.

"I talked to coach Dabo [Swinney], coach [Brent] Venables, coach [Marion] Hobby and coach [Jeff] Scott, a lot of different coaches," Lawson said.

What was the message?

"They want me to come to Clemson."

Lawson was in town with Ryan Jenkins, who was a teammate of Lawson's at Milton High School [Alpharetta, Ga.] before transferring to Lassiter. Jenkins hasn't pressured Lawson into joining him at Clemson.

"He just wanted me to come see a game," Lawson said.

The 6-foot-2, 245-pound prospect has yet to set up any future visits.

As a senior, Lawson had 82 tackles, 36 tackles for loss and 26.5 sacks.

He had 87 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and 15 sacks as a junior.
