Smith Hopes to Make GT Visit on Jan 20

Since Coach Dave Walkowsky arrived at Georgia Tech, the Yellow Jackets have been recruiting the fertile state of Ohio. One of the recruits getting attention from Tech and Coach Walkosky is 2014 Glenville safety Erick Smith.

Coach Walkosky recently visited Glenville during the two day contact period to obtain a visit from Smith for Tech on Jan 20. "Marshon Lattimore and I will come down if everything works out." The visit to Tech would be the second for Smith. He attend the Miami game this past season.

Smith's first visit to Tech made a big impression on him. "The weather was great. I loved the campus, the good chemistry between all the players, and the great facilities." The players lounge, the weight room, and the indoor facility were three of the facilities that got Smith's attention.

Erick is close friends with teammates Marshon Lattimore and Marcelys Jones. At one time they had planned on taking visits together. "We are close friends but I don't know if Marcelys will be making visits with Marshon and I. He made a commitment to Ohio State."

Smith and Lattimore have also discussed playing their college ball together. Tech has given Erick and Marshon verbal offers. Smith has received 7 verbal offers thus far. z

Beginning with his first visit to Tech, Smith and Coach Walkosky have built a strong relationship. "He always wants to know how my life is going and not just about football. He is a great guy."

Georgia Tech is the early favorite in Smith's recruitment. "My interest is very high. I like every thing about them. I can't wait to visit again and learn more about the school."

When Smith gets ready to make his decision, he will be looking at the education the school can provide him, the campus, and the facilities.
