Gonzaga, D.C. defensive back Miles Taylor gave his verbal commit to Georgia Tech Coach Paul Johnson earlier in the week. The commit continued the pipeline of D.C. recruits heading to Atlanta to play for Georgia Tech.

Earlier in the week Taylor called the Georgia Tech coaches and told them he wanted to be a Yellow Jacket. “It was a great feeling to be able to say that as I have felt great about Georgia Tech since the first time I set foot on campus.”

Miles’ first trip to Atlanta was for a 7 on 7 camp. His coach took the players to Tech following the camp. “I fell in love with Georgia Tech right then."

Taylor’s second trip to Atlanta was for Tech’s Junior Day. The visit sealed the deal for Taylor. The Tech coaches wanted Miles to commit on the visit but he decided to wait. “I waited until I got home to talk with my family first. I knew I wanted to go there but I wanted to be 100% sure and I am definitely 100% committed to Georgia Tech.”

Miles gave his commit to Coach Paul Johnson. "He said he was very happy to have me on board and was excited about the news. Miles also talked to Coach Joe Speed. “Coach Speed said it made his day.”

The Tech coaches plan to start Taylor out in their nickel package. “I'll probably play safety but if they want me to play corner, I will.” Taylor is looking forward to working hard to get on the field.

There have been a few schools that have called Miles, since his commit, to see how strong his commit is to Tech. “Out of respect to them, I won't name them. I am a man of my word and Coach Johnson told me he was 100% committed to me and I am going to be the same towards him.”

Taylor kept an eye on all the de-commits in the 2013 class. He knows one thing. He won’t be one of them.
