Profile - Brentavious Glanton
Albany, Georgia Monroe High School defensive tackle Brentavious Glanton has been spending his free time this summer preparing for his senior season. His recruitment, however, has not taken a back seat to the summer workouts.
The interest in Glanton is still going strong. Glanton is not ready to name a top five or a leader at this time. "There are a few schools that are really stepping up their recruitment of me the past few weeks."
Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Cal are the three schools that have been showing the most interest in Brentavious. "Georgia Tech has really poured on their recruitment of me." The recent commit of Tampa Plant defensive lineman Kyle Henderson makes Tech an attractive option for Glanton.
Brentavious and Henderson have become good friends. "We talk about how my recruitment is going and we both talk about how it would be great to play at Georgia Tech together. We call ourselves the "Dynamic Duo". Henderson has been recruiting Glanton ever since he committed to Tech.
The two defensive linemen met on a recruiting trip to Georgia Tech. "Coach (Mike) Pelton wanted us to get to know one another as we seem to have the same likes." Brentavious was happy for Henderson when he committed to Tech.
Glanton plans to take additional visits to Tech once the dead period ends. Tennessee will be another destination for Glanton. "With Cal, it will have to be an official visit for me to get out there." He will make a trip to Wake in a couple of days and a trip to Auburn is a possibility too.
The coaches at Tech and Brentavious talk weekly. "I really talk to Coach (Ted) Roof and Coach Pelton more than any other coaches out there." Glanton likes their approach to his recruitment.
It will probably be the end of summer before Glanton names a leader. He will then wait to see how the schools are doing with their recruiting classes and how their seasons are going before he commits. "I am going to make sure when I say I am committing to a school that it is a done deal."
