Brandon Scott Comes Away Impressed

Destrehan High School (LA) previously sent defensive tackle Daryl Richard to Georgia Tech. Saturday defensive back Brandon Scott made the trip to Atlanta to see if he wanted to follow in his cousin’s footsteps.

Scott came to Atlanta thinking that Tech would be an urban campus. “The campus was bigger and better looking than I thought it would be.” Brandon and his family toured the campus and the football facilities. Scott was impressed that Tech had three different fields available for practice. “I wished I could have been in the stadium full of fans. I know there is much history there.” Brandon was also impressed with the player’s lounge.

After touring the campus, Brandon met with defensive coordinator Ted Roof and graduate assistant Steven Sylvester. Scott also talked with Tech’s assistant directors of player personnel.

Coach Sylvester was able to answer any questions Brandon had about the school as he recently played at Tech. "I told him that everything was just amazing.”

Coach Roof and Brandon talked about his recruitment and when he planned to make a decision. “He asked me how I felt about Georgia Tech and then he extended an offer to me. I told him that I like Georgia Tech a lot.”

If Brandon had to name a top three right now, Tech would definitely make that list. “That is how much I like them." Scott plans to announce that list in four weeks. A week later at his high school’s jamboree game, Scott plans to announce his decision.

Scott plans to major in electrical engineering. He’ll be looking for a school that has a strong EE program. He is also looking to see how the schools recruiting him will use his athletic abilities. Scott likes to play man to man at the corner position and he also feels comfortable sliding into the nickel. “I know Georgia Tech plays a 4-2-5 and that is something that intrigues me."
