Etowah High School (GA) linemen Brad and Scott Morgan have gone through their recruitment hoping that they could play their college ball at the same school. Friday that became a reality.
The past few days have been busy ones for the twins. They both received an offer from Georgia Tech while camping at Vanderbilt Thursday. Brad was happy about the offer but Scott wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. “I was in a dilemma of sorts. I had been looking at Vandy pretty hard.” Scott finally decided that Georgia Tech was where he wanted to be.
The prestige of a Georgia Tech degree had a lot to do with Scott selecting Tech. Knowing that his brother Brad would be playing for Tech also weighed on his decision. “I looked at Brad playing for them and looked back on how we enjoyed playing football together. I really wanted to continue to doing that.” Their parents are also happy knowing they only have to visit one school to see them play every weekend.
Scott talked to Tech coaches Paul Johnson, Andy McCollum, and Mike Sewak about his commitment. "Coach Johnson was very ecstatic about having us both on his team.”
Coach Sewak and Coach McCollum will now have to decide which side of the ball to play Scott. "I feel that playing inside is best for me on defense.” If the coaches decide to put Scott on the offensive line, he will have no complaints. “I will play with the same desire and hard work as I would if I were playing defense.”
Scott now plans to attend some games this season and will also be taking his official visit. Scott is done with his recruitment and has no thoughts about changing his mind. "I am all Georgia Tech now and very happy about it. This couldn't be better for me."
