Fennell Narrowing His List Down

Grayson linebacker Daniel Fennell made a return visit to Georgia Tech this week. The visit left an impression on Fennell and put Tech in a better position than they already had been.

Daniel had never seen the entire campus until this visit. "It really opened my eyes.” Daniel found that the campus was bigger than he thought it would be. “I was more than pleased with the visit and especially Georgia Tech."

Fennell spent time with Tech defensive coaches Ted Roof, Andy McCollum, and Joe Speed. He also got to talk with Tech Coach Paul Johnson. “They all told me they wanted me there and that I could make an impact.” Daniel liked that the coaches made him feel at ease on the visit. “They are a great bunch of guys.”

The players lounge and the indoor practice facility were two of the things that stood out on the visit for Daniel. "The indoor facility is the best and biggest I have seen thus far on any of my recruiting trips."

Daniel let us know that he’s always been high on Georgia Tech. "This trip moved them up higher for me. It made me feel even better about Georgia Tech.”

Georgia Tech commit Kyle Henderson is also doing his best to convince Fennell to commit to Tech. The two are good friends. "Now that he has committed to Georgia Tech, we text and talk about us playing together at Georgia Tech.” Daniel likes the possibility of getting to play with Kyle. “It could happen. You never know."

Before the end of summer, Daniel hopes to visit the Carolina schools as well as visiting Louisville and Vanderbilt.

Daniel has an idea of which schools are his top ones but he feels he should look around some more just to be sure. “I’m not wide open. I do have it narrowed down.”

It won’t be long before Fennell expects to announce his top schools. “I feel Georgia Tech has more than an excellent chance of being on it.” Look for Fennell to make his decision when he feels that it is time. "It could be a few weeks or a few months.”
