Profile - Nick Westbrook
Lake Mary High School (FLA) receiver Nick Westbrook is nearing the end of his recruitment. Westbrook has five favorites and three of those schools have a slight lead over the others. Future visits could change that.
Nick hasn’t picked up any new offers recently and he knew that it was time to trim down his list of offers. “It’s time to concentrate on the schools I like best."
There are a few reasons why Westbrook has those three leaders. He has visited all three this summer and he likes the campus settings for each of those schools. "I’ve also have really bonded with the coaches at those schools."
Georgia Tech is a school that could possible move up with the top three. "I just talked with Coach (Lamar) Owens and he says that Georgia Tech is still high on me and he would love for me to come there.” Westbrook will likely visit one of Tech’s home games this season. That visit is one Nick will use to see how Georgia tech is during the season and could be a decision changer for him.
Westbrook is looking for a school with a small town feel. Nick wants to visit Tech so that he can get a look at their campus located in downtown Atlanta.
Getting a closer look at the Tech offense is also on the agenda for Westbrook. “I know they have turned out some great receivers like Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, and Stephen Hill so that proves you can do well in that system.” Nick hasn’t ruled out Tech by any means.
Being able to name a top five was easy for Nick. Now, he’s ready for the hard part of his recruitment. Taking his official visits could be a way of separating the top five but Nick isn’t sure that he wants to drag it out that long. Westbrook hopes to be able to reach a decision before long to avoid any distractions during his senior season.
