Jason Hill (6'5", 250 pound athlete from Douglass High in Atlanta) is the most recent commit to the Georgia Tech program. Hill committed to the Yellow Jackets earlier in the week and this weekend, he took his official visit. Hill said, "We had a nice little time. We went out to dinner, toured the school and checked out the weight room a couple of times." As for dinner, he had a favorite spot, "We went to the Brazilian restaurant (Fogo de Chao). I enjoyed myself, it was really nice." Joining Jason on the trip was his older brother.

It was said during the past week that, his high school teammate and current GT commit, Greg Smith helped recruit Hill to GT. Hill said, "You could say that. He's a real close friend of mine. I've known him since the 9th grade." How long has Greg been working on Jason? Hill said, "He's been working ever since he heard they offered, he started persuading me to come to Georgia Tech. I mean, I might as well stay home, enjoy myself better."

So when did Georgia Tech start to get involved with Jason? "They were in touch with me from the beginning until they heard I committed to UNC. And then they kind of backed off." "They recently heard, when they came up to talk to Greg, that I had de-committed from North Carolina. But I didn't de-commit, it was just a rumor. And they just jumped back on the wagon and tried to take me." What actually happened with the Tarheels at that point isn't completely clear. Hill said, "Another dude they had before on their team had broke his leg and he had a 6th year of eligibility, a medical redshirt. And I was supposed to take a visit last weekend but they didn't call."

Since the UNC connection kind of didn't work out, what other offers did Hill claim beside the one from GT? "Oklahoma State, East Carolina, and Middle Tennessee," said Hill. As far as other official visits go, he says, "I took one to Oklahoma State last weekend."

At what position were schools recruiting Hill for? Hill said, "Most schools have been recruiting me as an offensive lineman." How about GT? "They see me as a defensive player. They say if I feel comfortable playing offensive line then they can work things out to get me in my comfort zone, but I see myself as a defensive lineman too." Could defensive tackle be in the works in the future should Jason continue to grow? Hill said, "I've got enough potential to gain weight but I'd rather stay on the outside."

During his visit, Jason was hosted by KaMichael Hall, although he did get to bump into some others. Hill said, "I talked to Reggie Ball. I know Reggie Ball because we played against each other." Jason was recruited to Tech by Tommie Robinson and he plans on majoring in Business Management.
