Saturday was an eventful day for Georgia Tech fans. At 10 AM fans could come to campus and get autographs and take pictures with their favorite Yellow Jackets. At 3:30, the team held its final open practice. The practice was fully refereed scrimmage with many fans (and some recruits) in attendance.

As a change of pace on the practice reporting there will be a guest reporter bringing you the action from Bobby Dodd Stadium. 33Jacket and I have had many discussions about the team and its performance throughout this fall's camp and today, he gets the last word. He's a good student of the game and full of sharp observations. The floor is his…

Here is an excerpt from the report.

* Nice crowd today; some of us were in mid season form heckling the refs.

* Mainly first and second team reps. first half of the practice the 1st team D vs. 2nd team O and vice versa. Second half the 1s went against each other and the 3rd teamers got reps too.

* Greg Smith absolutely has burners. My gosh; he caught a pass over the middle, juked Djay Jones and ran around the edges out running everyone. I thought he was going to bust it for 50 yards, but he stepped out. I mean...everyone else looked in slow motion. WOW.

* Patrick Clark started over Jahi Word-Daniels. Jahi played on the 2nd team so he went up against Calvin Johnson a lot. Jahi is darn good. It says something about PC if he jumped Jahi. Let's put it this way...I think Jahi starts vs. Notre Dame because he is bigger and taller, but PC will have plenty of time in nickel and vs. other teams. They are both playing REAL well.
