As the 2007 recruiting season is winding down, Scout.com has started talking to the 2008 recruits to get a feel on what schools they favor and how they think their recruiting will go. Steven Sylvester is one of the most sought after recruits for the 2008 class and Scout.com had a nice conversation with him.

How do you think your high school football team will be this upcoming year?

"We are rebuilding but we have high hopes going into the season."

Steven, are you looking forward to the up coming recruiting season?

"Yes sir I am and in fact recruiting is going very good for me, it is about to heat up for me."

Does that mean you have a leader or verbal to announce?

"No sir, it's just that I'm getting a lot recruiting interest from various schools."

So, which school are the ones that you like the most?

"Right now I would say Georgia Tech, Georgia, Virginia Tech, and Florida State are the top four for me."

So, what stands out for you with those four schools?

Well, with Georgia Tech, the education, tradition, close to home is very appealing. With Georgia, their tradition and being close to home is nice. With Virginia Tech, I like how their defense is always good as they seem to be ranked high all the time. Tradition is what I like about Florida State."

Who are the coaches that are recruiting you at each school?

"Coach Smith is recruiting me for Georgia Tech. Coach Gray is recruiting me for Virginia Tech. Coach Allen is recruiting me for Florida State and Coach Martinez is recruiting me for Georgia."

There has been a trend in the past few years that recruits like to play with close friends. I understand that you and Chris Jackson and Kyle Jackson are good friends and will that play a part in your decision?

"I know Chris and Kyle well and playing on the same team with them would be great but I do know that you will have to make new friends and teammates no matter which school you go to."

Okay, what would you consider the most important part of the puzzle for you in deciding on which college you will go to?

"Staying close to home is probably the biggest thing to me. Having my friends and family being able to see me play is important."

When you choose a school, what will be your major?

Either Mass Communications or Broadcast Journalism are the ones that I like the best."

While a decision for Steven is a long ways down the road, it seems that two schools have emerged to be the leaders for this fine young man.
