Scout.com and Nick McRae, a big time center prospect from Dublin, Georgia had a chance to chat after Nick had an in home visit from Georgia Tech's new head coach, Paul Johnson.

Nick, I understand Coach Johnson from Georgia Tech made an in home visit with you this past week?

"Yes sir, he sure did. He and Coach Giff Smith came to visit this past week."

That's good to hear. How did the visit go?

"It went pretty good. It was a good visit."

What was your impression of Coach Johnson?

"He's a good person; he was very nice to me during our conversation."

Did Coach Johnson talk you about how he wants to you to play in his offense and do you have a preference where you play?

"Yes, sir he did. He said he envisioned me as a center or guard in his offense. I don't have a problem playing center or guard, which ever best fits the team."

So after this visit are you still a commitment to Georgia Tech?

"Yes sir I still consider myself a solid commitment to Georgia Tech. Still, I am listening to others and what they have to say but I still consider my commitment to Georgia Tech solid."

What other schools have contacted you?

"Maryland, North Carolina State, and North Carolina are the other three schools that have made contact with me. The OL coach from Maryland has spoken to me and the recruiting coordinator from North Carolina State has called."

Do you have any interest in those three schools?

"I really don't know. The OL coach at Maryland was nice and North Carolina State has a former teammate of mine playing with them. I really don't know that much about North Carolina."

So, what does the future before signing day hold for you?

"I have an official visit set up to visit Georgia Tech and depending on how that visit goes will determine if make any other visits or not. If my visit goes well, then I am set, nothing else for me to do.

It sounds like Nick is committed to attending Georgia Tech but is going to make sure his decision is the correct one by how his January 11th visit goes. From the tone of our conversation, Nick sounded positive about Georgia Tech but with the new coaches and all, he just wants to be 100% sure that this decision is the right one.
