Jay Finch OL/DL from Kennesaw Mountain took time out from his afternoon lake outing to answer a few questions about his recruiting and to talk about his summer plans.

What are your measurables?

"I'm 6'4" and weigh 265 pounds. I was recently timed at 4.73 at the gym where I train."

What schools have been contacting you?

"I have offers from Ole Miss, Louisville, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, East Carolina, Central Florida, and Middle Tennessee."

Are there any schools that you'd like to get an offer from that you haven't heard from?

"I'd like to hear from Georgia."

Have you had a chance to narrow your list down to a top five?

"Yes sir, I'd say Louisville, NC State, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and ECU."

Do you have any plans to attend any summer camps?

"Yes sir, I'm going to the Georgia Tech offensive and defensive line camp this coming Sunday and Monday. I haven't made any other plans."

What positions will you play this coming season?

"I'll be playing on both sides of the ball. On offensive, I'll be at tackle and on defense at either end or tackle. I'll also be doing the long snapping."

Have the schools recruiting you given you any idea what position they want you to play?

"All the schools with the exception of Georgia Tech like me on the defensive side of the ball. Tech likes me as an offensive lineman. I know they're looking for athletic offensive linemen. Coach (Brian) Bohannon and Coach (Todd) Spencer both like me on the offensive line."

What will be the factors you'll look at in making your decision?

"I'd prefer not to go too far away from home. Nothing more than a 7 or 8 hour drive. Academically, I'm thinking about architecture or engineering but that could change before I decide on a major. I'll also be looking at coaching styles of the schools that interest me."

Do you have a time frame for making a decision?

"I'll probably take all of my official visits before I make a decision."

What do you consider your strongest traits?

"Probably my nose for the ball on defense as well as my speed."

What will you try to improve this summer?

"I'm going to be working on getting lower in my stance, my hand work, and I still want to do some more work on my speed."

Jay is looking forward to the recruiting process and finding out more about the schools that have given him offers. He expects his Kennesaw Mountain team to make the playoffs this year. Playing both sides of the ball, he should have a big role in reaching that goal.
