Luke Swift plays running back for Center Grove High School, who is ranked #2 in Indiana's 5A class. His teammate is quarterback and Georgia Tech commitment, Jordan Luallen. Swift took a visit with Luallen to Georgia Tech last Saturday when the Yellow Jackets hosted Duke.
Here are Luke's thoughts on the game and visit:
"I love the coaches and what the program has to offer. They are really family oriented over there. The atmosphere is great. There were a ton of people there. I have been to Tech before and took the tour and everything then. This was my first visit to a Tech game, though. We hung out in one of the coaches' office. It was great."
Luke also mentioned he spoke with most of the coaches including offensive line coach Todd Spencer and quarterbacks/B-backs coach Brian Bohannon, who is recruiting him for the Jackets. Luke handed in his highlight tape to the coaches and is hoping for an offer.
How about the rest of Luke's recruiting front. Who is he considering?
"Georgia Tech, Purdue has a ton of interest in me, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Central Michigan has begun to show interest. Basically a lot of local schools are sending me stuff."
Purdue and Georgia Tech are a definite top 2 for Luke. All the schools are mainly looking at him as a receiver, although he is willing to play anywhere. He has no offers yet, but hopes they come soon as his highlight film has just been made. His coaches are impressed with it. Before visiting Tech, Luke also visited Purdue once for a game. How did that go and what does he like about the Boilermakers?
"The coaches are personable. They all talk to me. Their recruiting coordinator calls me every single week. They're all good guys up there. They are family-oriented just like Georgia Tech. Those two schools are pretty much the same thing, except one is in Indiana and one's in Georgia. Purdue is a technical school and has great academics. They both have good football programs, too."
Luke says it would be a bonus if he were to go to Tech and have Jordan there with him. He's keeping his options open now though and being patient. Something will surely come through for him, it's only a matter of time.
