How did the trip to Florida go on Friday?
"It went really well. I got a chance to compete against some the best athletes around. There were a lot of great talents and athletes during the whole time I was there. I talked with Mack Brown who just committed to Florida. He plays for MLK, and they are the biggest threat in our high school's region. It was a great experience and an honor to be down there with all those other players. I liked the visit a lot."
Did Florida offer you while you were down there?
"No sir, an offer did not come forth, but the coaches said they would continue to evaluate my film and watch my season. An offer could happen sometime in the future. They're just not real sure because of numbers."
What did this visit do to the top schools on your list?
Did you hear about Shawn Green making a commitment to Georgia Tech?
"Yes sir, I did. Denzel McCoy has been keeping me up to date on the recruiting situation at Georgia Tech. He really wants me to come there, but we are such good friends that if for some reason I don't commit to Georgia Tech, we will still be the best of friends. Plus, Steven Sylvester is a good friend of mine as is Kyle Jackson. We all three went to Union Groove, so I pretty much know a lot about Georgia Tech."
So what is left for you to do?
"Right now, I am through with all my visits, since school starts the week after next. I will do a lot of soul searching and thinking about what I want to do. I know if I commit before the season, I will be through with my recruitment. But, if I let it go into my senior year some, I will most likely take some game visits and official visits to the schools I am interested in and no others."
Do you think there is a good chance that you will commit before your senior year starts?
"Yes sir, there is a good chance. I have talked with some NFL players I know, and they tell me that committing early assures me a spot at a school that I really like and it allows me to concentrate on my senior year to get even better and better prepared for college."
Speaking of your high school season, how does Union Groove look this year?
"We have a couple of really good transfers coming in, and we look like we will be a strong team in our region. We open up the season with one of the top schools from Alabama in a Jamboree-type game setting with another top school from South Carolina playing before us. This year looks to be a good one."
You could tell Anthony had a really good time in Gainesville but even with that good time, he still has Georgia Tech and FSU at the top of his list. It will be interesting over the next couple of weeks to see if Anthony finds something at one the two schools that will make him pull the trigger and commit. Regardless of which school he picks, that school will be getting a great football player and a person of high character.
