Anthony Williams Visit to the Flats

Anthony Williams spoke with GoJackets.com about his official visit to Georgia Tech this past weekend. The visit gave Anthony a chance to get to know the other commits better and to catch up on things at Georgia Tech. Anthony's previous visit occurred at the GT-UGa game where the Tech recruits bonded.

Anthony Williams - Profile

So, how did your official visit to Georgia Tech go this past weekend?

"Oh it went really well. We had a blast the entire weekend. We got there on Friday and checked into the hotel. Later that night we took in the player banquet. It was good as the seniors got recognition and the top players got their awards. All of us (commits) pretty much hung out together and with the other players. Over the weekend we went on tours of the school and campus. We had a chance to talk with professors in the area we want to major in to get ideas as to what to expect. I will be majoring in Business Management so I talked a lot with the professors in that area. On Sunday we had breakfast and checked out and went home. It was a good time and good trip."

Sounds like this class is a close knit group?

"Yes we are. I know the 2007 class is real close and we want to be like that too. At the Georgia game we all talked about how we want to come in and be a part of carrying what Georgia Tech has going for them right now. All the recruits except for Shawn (Shawn Green) and Quayshawn Nealy were there for the official visit this weekend so we are doing what it takes to stay close. I know you can ask Denzel about any of us and he can tell you about them, he has all the info. I think we will be a great class. We are very well connected and have bonded real well with one another."

Have they assigned a number to you at Georgia Tech?

"No sir at this time I haven't been assigned one by the coaches. I tell you one thing though, if Derrick Morgan goes pro I will be there real quick to snatch up number 91 to carry on what he has started with that number."

How about roommates, do you know yours will be when you get to Tech?

"Right now it looks like it will be me Denzel, Jake Skole and most likely Morgan Bailey."

That puts two offensive players and two defensive players in together?

"I don't know, I heard talk of Jake maybe playing defense when he gets to Georgia Tech so it will make it three of us on defense and one offensive player in Morgan Bailey."

How about you signing of your LOI, will you hold a function at your high school?

"I know I will hold a little function at school but at the official Denzel and I were talking about getting all the players together and head over to Fox Grill and hold a signing party there. I don't know if Quayshawn can make it from Florida but the others we hope to have all together. I know Denzel has talked to a lot of the other commits so we might be able to make it happen. I do know that I will be there and Denzel and Charles for sure."

Anthony had a very good time in Atlanta this past weekend. You could tell from talking with him that this class is really close. They have bonded real well in much the same manner that the 2007 class has done. He is looking forward to signing day and then getting to Georgia Tech for summer classes and workouts. Georgia Tech is not only getting a very good player but a very good person that will represent Georgia Tech well both on and off the field.
