Could Keaton Miles Follow In Bosh's Steps?

Lincoln SF Keaton Miles

The last big-name basketball player to come from Dallas (TX) Lincoln High School was Georgia Tech's Chris Bosh. The latest is a rising senior named Keaton Miles, a 6-7, 200 pound small forward, who is known for his competitive streak.

As was the case with Chris Bosh there was also a connection with Georgia Tech. How hard has Tech been recruiting Keaton Miles? "There was a time when I heard from Tech pretty regularly but I haven't heard from them as much lately."

Miles has seven offers and is also receiving interest from other schools. "I have offers from Arkansas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Houston, and SMU." Keaton has visited California and is receiving interest from many of the Big 12 schools.

None of the schools that have offered Miles have taken the lead yet. "It's still pretty open and I have no favorites."

Keaton has a few things he's looking at as he goes about trying to select a school. "I want to get a good education, so academics are important." He'll also be looking at the quality of the program, Also of importance to him is the coaching he'll receive. "I want a good coach, a mentor, and someone who can help develop me as a player and a person."

Miles will be relying on a small group to help him make that decision. My parents, my high school coach and AAU coach will help but the core group will be me and my folks." Keaton has plans to make that decision before his season begins. Grades won't be an issue as he currently has a 3.6 GPA.

AAU basketball will be occupying Miles' time this summer. He is playing his AAU ball with the Dallas Mustangs. "We've got a local tournament and then we go to the Adidas Invitational in Indianapolis and two events in Las Vegas including the Dual in the Desert."
