Tre Jackson Battle an In-State One

Wayne County NT Tre Jackson

Wayne County High School (GA) recruit Tre Jackson lines up on both sides of the ball for his high school team but prefers to play defense. His top two schools are both looking at him on the defensive side of the ball.

Tre Jackson's recruitment has recently begun to pick up. "Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, Georgia Southern, and Tennessee are recruiting me real hard lately." While all five are recruiting Jackson hard, he feels that Georgia Tech and Georgia are recruiting him harder than the rest. "I also like them a bit more than the others."

One of the things that appeals to Jackson about Georgia Tech is the campus. "I like the way it is set up." Jackson likes the Tech defense and has formed a bond with some of the coaches. "I have a good relationship with Coach (Lamar) Owens who is my recruiting coach and I've also bonded well with Coach (Todd) Spencer and Coach (Paul) Johnson."

Jackson liked the campus and the stadium when he visited Georgia. He is being recruited by Coach Tony Ball at Georgia.

While he is playing both sides of the ball for Wayne County, Jackson is being recruited on the defensive side of the ball by both schools. "I am being recruited as a nose tackle by both Georgia and Georgia Tech," said Jackson. "It's much better to hit someone than getting hit first."

Tre has not set a date to make his college choice. "I want to play it by ear and see what happens and make sure the decision I make is the right one." Jackson doesn't have any definite factors that will make him say that one school is the one for him. "My mom really loves Georgia Tech and I know if she had her way that is the school I would choose as she lives right down the street from Georgia Tech and she really loves the school and the academic reputation it has."

Tre is just starting his two a days and is gearing up for his final season at Wayne County. While he has a handful of teams that are recruiting him hard it seems like it will come down to an in- state battle for him with Georgia Tech holding a pretty good edge right now.
