| Talented pitcher who returned to active duty after missing the entire 2005 season....Continued to rehab this past fall only to be sidelined again by knee injury....is expected to be ready by early March....Has a good, live fastball that tops 90 miles per hour in addition to a good assortment of off speed pitches....Established himself as a quality contributor on the Tech staff as a freshman.
2006: Returned to mound with a 1-2-3 inning of relief 4/4 vs. Georgia Southern....earned a win in his first career start against South Florida 5/6 working five innings and allowing two runs on two hits....picked up his second win while coming out of the bullpen against second-ranked Clemson in the ACC Tournament....selected by St. Louis Cardinals in 45th round of June Draft....pitched for Orleans Cardinals of Cape Cod League during summer.
2005: Missed entire season following Tommy John elbow surgery in fall of 2004.
2004: One of Tech's key relievers....turned in eight consecutive scoreless relief outings to begin collegiate career....Earned a win in his first collegiate appearance against Georgia Southern 2/15 by working 1.1 scoreless innings as Tech won 5-4 in the 10th....Earned a save in his second outing against Villanova 2/20 by working 1.2 shutout innings and fanning three....Struck out the side against Western Carolina 3/9 in a perfect ninth inning for his second save of the year....Earned his third save by tossing two perfect innings with three strikeouts against Purdue 3/17....Struggled in four appearances in late March and early April, allowing 12 runs in 3.1 innings after allowing just two runs on six hits in his first 12 innings, spanning 10 appearances....Bounced back in his last four outings, working 5.2 innings and allowing just one run....Credited with the win in Tech's 11-7, 13-inning win over Clemson in the ACC Tournament, working 2.2 innings and allowing one run....Also saw spot duty as a second baseman....Pitched for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League during the summer, posting a 2-0 record and a 1.32 ERA. |
