| High school quarterback who had scholarship offers to play college football, but elected to come to Georgia Tech to play baseball instead....Has good range and a strong arm....can play second base, third base or shortstop.
2007: Returns as starting shortstop....will likely takeover No. 2 spot in Jackets batting order.
2006: Emerged as Tech's everyday shortstop while going on to start all 68 games....Hit .268 with 39 RBI on the season, and ended the year with a .333 average over the last 10 games....Had 15 multi-hit games during the season....Had a season-long eight-game hitting streak, in which he hit .452 with three doubles and nine RBI, snapped in the second game at Boston College....Named to the All-Regional team at the NCAA Atlanta Regional after hitting .385 (5-for-13) with a double and a grand slam....Had a career-high four RBI in win over Stetson in the opening game of Regional....Went 2-for-5 with a walk and a run in Tech's Super Regional win over College of Charleston (6/10)....spent summer with Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League.
2005: Primarily saw duty at second base behind veteran Mike Trapani....went 3-for-4 with four RBI in first collegiate start 2/19 vs. Iona....collected three hits, including first collegiate home run 3/6 at Duke....homered in following game 3/8 vs. William & Mary....was 2-for-5 with a stolen base and three RBI 3/13 vs. Wake Forest....season average stood at .462 following 3/18 game vs. NC State, but went just 3-for-24 while playing in only 14 of team's last 45 games....did not start after 4/16 and had no at-bats during post-season....played for Keene Swampbats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League during summer.
High School: A four-year letter-winner for coach Thomas Wims at Montgomery Bell Academy as a shortstop and center fielder....Rated as the No. 3 prospect in Tennessee by Baseball America....Named the 2004 Division II High School Player of the Year by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association....named to the 2004 All-State baseball team by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association....Overall, a three-time all-state and all-region selection....Led Montgomery Bell to the 2004 state championship....Hit .474 with six home runs and 30 RBI as a senior....Also highly decorated as a quarterback on the football field....Named Mr. Football in Tennessee as a senior....Led MBA to football state championships in 2002 and 2003....played for East Cobb-based STM Striker team coached by former Tech catcher Eric McQueen during summer of 2004.
