High School: Four year letter-winner for coach Mark Stuffel at Nansemond River High School....The Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2006 (story)....A four-time first-team all-district honoree....The 2006 District Player of the Year....Participated in the Virginia East-West Game....Hold the Nansemond record for most strikeouts in a season (85), set during his senior year....Helped Nansemond reach the AAA Eastern District Regionals for the first time in 2005....Was also a three-year letter-winner throwing the shot put for track coach Franco Britt.
