| Plays the game at a faster speed than a forty time would make you think. Linebacker is still new to Smith, but he has a very high ceiling. He just has instincts that always keep him around the ball and he has the size that many schools covet at his position. He really does a nice job of playing within himself, not over-pursuing the ball, and making sure tackles. He still needs to work on disengaging from blockers. |

| Telvin Smith finished his junior season with 97 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and two interceptions. He says he can bench 310-pounds, squat 415 and has a 26-inch vertical jump.
Smith says he’d like to be a teacher or coach and reports a 2.5 core GPA and 16 ACT, which he’ll retake in the fall.
Smith: “I think I have good speed and have a great eye for the ball. I bring a lot of hype to the defense. I’m always getting everyone going. I’m very aggressive too.
“I want to improve my stance and work on my stamina. I’m also working on my zone coverage.”
